Buy Pre-Picked Persimmons

During the harvest season from March to early June, you can buy pre-picked persimmons at our packing shed, which is located just inside the farm gate on the right. Parking is immediately on the left as you enter the property. We supply both the wholesale market and sell direct to the public at farm gate prices.

At the shed, persimmons are primarily sold by the tray, with fruit sizes ranging from Size 25 (smallest) to Size 10 (largest), depending on variety and size of fruit that season. The size indicates the number of pieces of fruit that can fit in a tray.

Fruit is also graded according to quality:

  • 1st Grade – Premium commercial quality with minimal blemishes.

  • 2nd Grade – Fruit with minor imperfections or superficial marks.

  • 3rd Grade – Persimmons that may be bird-picked or quite damaged, often used for making persimmon vinegar.

For those who prefer smaller quantities, we also offer loose persimmons for sale.

Buy Persimmons for Drying

If you're looking to make dried persimmons, astringent varieties like Nightingale and Yemen are the best choices, as their natural sugars concentrate during drying, creating a rich, sweet flavor with a soft, chewy texture.

Non-astringent varieties (like Fuyu) can also be dried, but they tend to stay firmer and slightly crisp.

The Yemen persimmon is especially popular for making ‘gotgam’ (곶감)—a traditional Korean delicacy where whole persimmons are hung by their stems to dry naturally.

For customers buying Yemen persimmons for gotgam, we harvest to order and leave a long stem for easy hanging. The fruit is picked when it’s orange but still very firm to ensure the best drying results.

  • Yemen persimmons for gotgam are generally sold by the box (approx. 10kg per box), but we can arrange any quantity to suit your needs.

Nightingale Persimmons – Available in large tubs, sold straight off the tree as a mixed grade and mixed size of firm, unripened fruit. Priced by the kilogram.

Fuyu Persimmons – Once the Fuyu harvest is well underway, we also sell Fuyus by the tub (approximately 12kg).
